Please find the full set of results attached from, a hectic night's Superleague on Tuesday. It was all the more hectic because, for unfortunate but certainly avoidable reasons, the draw did not emerge from the computer until after 8pm. The buck stops with me and I apologise once again as youngsters and those with long journey times are particularly affected. We made up time by restricting most players to 4 matches rather than the usual 5.

On a brighter note, another full house fought hard over the £280 prize money with debutant DALE BARHAM ranked 17 in England, victorious over John Holland in an exciting final.

Earlier, the first round had gone to form with 15 out of 16 seeds safely through. The only one to fall was Steve Dobbins who lost to Chris Pickard. Chris went on to have his best ever run beating Costas Papantoniou 11-8 in the fifth in the second round and finding himself 2 games to 1 up against Mark Smith in the quarter finals before losing in 5. Peter Radford too had one of his best tournaments and spurned several match points against Liu Meihan which would have put him into the last 8. Meihan was the losing finalist at last weekend's Bristol Grand Prix and her growing confidence produced a fine quarter final performance in which she took John Holland to 4 close games.

Meihan's conqueror at Bristol was Xu Shuying and she put in yet another impressive showing. Once again, Chris Doran, fresh from beating Michael Marsden to win Band 1 and player of the tournament at Bristol, lost to her in 5 close matches. Shuying then beat Neil Charles in 4, to reach her third successive semi-final before losing to an inspired Barham.

We hope left-hander Dale will bring his all action looping game to the December meeting. If so he is likely to face further competition from Lorestas Trupauskas, proud father of a newly arrived baby boy, and Abdul Wuraola who has now returned from Australia.
